Terms and Conditions for Bristol Places and People Photography Competition 2025-26

1. Competition Overview and Timeline

Competition open to individuals aged 18 and over to ensure legal capacity for licensing agreements and to simplify rights management for publication and exhibition purposes
All photographs must be taken within a 6-mile radius of Montpelier railway station, Bristol
Images must have been captured after 1st January 2022
Maximum of three photographs per entrant
Additional submissions beyond three will automatically invalidate all entries except the three most recent
Total combined size of an entrant's valid submissions must not exceed 15MB
Acceptable file format: JPEG
High-resolution versions (minimum 300 DPI) required upon request for shortlisted entries

Written permission required before entering:
- Photographs of identifiable individuals aged 18 or over: from the individual themselves
- Photographs of identifiable individuals under 18: from their parent or legal guardian
- Photographs taken on private property: from the property owner or authorised representative
All permissions must include:
- Full name of consenting party
- Contact details
- Signature
- Date of permission
All permissions must be available upon request

Winners' photographs will feature in:
- 2026 Bristol Places and People charity calendar
- Associated exhibition(s)
- Competition promotional materials
No monetary prizes or royalties will be awarded
Entrants retain ownership while granting participating food banks:
- Non-exclusive rights to sell photographs in fundraising calendar
- Permission for promotional use
- Right to edit submissions
All net proceeds support emergency food provision through participating food banks

Use of sponsor logos or names alongside competition entries is prohibited without prior written consent from competition organisers or relevant sponsor
Organisers reserve the right to disqualify entries or entrants at the request of sponsors or The Trussell Trust

By entering the competition, entrants agree to be bound by our Privacy Policy
Entrants consent to the collection and processing of their personal data as outlined in the Privacy Policy
Personal information will be handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation

The competition is organised by:

- South & East Bristol Foodbank, via inHope (Bristol) Ltd (Charity 298528)

Competition organisers retain the right to:
- Make editorial changes to submitted photographs
- Disqualify any entry that violates these terms
- Remove entries from the competition at their discretion
- Modify competition terms with appropriate notice to participants
All decisions made by the competition organisers and judging panel are final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into regarding these decisions.
